Dynamic Response and Geogrid Strain Analysis of GRS Retaining Wall

Modular Geogrid Reinforced Soil (GRS) retaining walls, as flexible structures, usually have a certain deformation capacity. However, the damage of facing panels will directly affect durability performance wall and pose threat to safety operation road related facilities. In order study influence different load factors on mode failure characteristics wall, an indoor large-scale model test was carried out. The considers average load, peak value, amplitude frequency under traffic load. changes in settlement horizontal deformation, geogrid strain acceleration response GRS are compared analyzed. results show that dynamic test, two modes “wall outward tilt” curved”. maximum 4.5% 3.6%, respectively, which did not reach strain. is largest mechanical all factors, followed by magnitude finally frequency. addition, combining existing earth pressure calculation theory, set methods for tendons external proposed.
